Sophfronia Scott at Erma Bombeck Workshop

It’s still dark outside, 6:30 am, but I’m just flying with “Mojo,” inspired by the words of Sophfronia Scott. She’s the morning keynote for the #virtualerma, Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop.

I was not familiar with Sophfronia or her work, but I just looked at the link provided to her account of the Sandy Hook shooting. She is brilliant, and her presence at the workshop is to consider the power of writing. She is not a humor writer, but her presentation affirms the importance of humor and humor writers. It was an inspiring kickoff.

Here’s the link to the story I mentioned, “Why I Didn’t Go to the Firehouse.”
